At Mary Elliot Academy we have a very active school council.  This has been a particularly challenging year with COVID restrictions but we have still managed to nominate our council members and complete a vote.

These were done in our class bubbles this year with adapted voting and discussions taking place to show that even during this difficult time all our pupils have a voice.

Once the nominations were in the school voted on their representatives using a variety of visual, auditory and tactile aids to help pupils choose.

Voting papers were emailed to each class and then collated ready to be counted and verified.

The results were announced in department assemblies which took place via Microsoft Teams this year.

It was successful considering the difficult times we have experienced this year and again is proof of the power of our pupil’s voices.

Meetings are held every half term where possible, via Microsoft Teams.
