MacMillan Coffee Morning and Parent Communication Workshop

On Friday 27th September, we held our annual MacMillan's Coffee Morning and also had our Communication Lead, meet with parents to discuss the academy's communication offer.

We received and incredible number of cake donations and want to say a huge thank you for those of you who sent in shop bought items or had the time to bake.

During the morning we had two competitions, the first was a 'Beat the Head' where Rebecca, our headteacher and academy staff submitted a homemade cake. These entries were blind tasted and judged by students, parents and academy staff. Unfortunately ....for everyone else, Rebecca's delicious cheesecake came out as the clear winner.

The second competition was 'Guess the weight of the Cake'. A beautiful three tier Victoria Sponge was carefully handcrafted by Courtney Smith, a Teaching Assistant in the ASC department. The official weight of the cake was 2,395g and was won by one of our members of staff.

Thank you so much to those of you who joined us. The amount raised during  the morning was a huge £251.92.
