This week’s Academy News comes from the Post 16 Department
Prior to the half-term break, the Post 16 department had been busy helping set up and run our Polling Station for Student Council Elections.
Those students willing to stand for election made their own manifestos and visited other classes in the department to promote their campaigns. They also helped to sort and count the votes from across the school so that the winners could be announced in the whole school assembly. We will be sharing an update on our new student council in next weeks, Academy News.
Students have also been working hard on their independent living skills in class and in the Food Tech room. 6F1 have also started to apply these skills in the real life setting of the Academy's independent living flat, a short walk away from school.
It has been fantastic to see so much happening in the first half-term. Well done Post 16.
