Mary Elliot Academy: MHC

Who I am: Georgina Ross

Why I wanted to be a Champ: I wanted to be a Champ because I want to help create a supportive and open environment where colleagues and students feel comfortable talking about their wellbeing.  I know how important it is to have someone to turn to when things feel overwhelming. By raising awareness, sharing resources, and encouraging conversations, I want to make sure people know they’re not alone and that support is available.

A fun fact about me: I turn my housework into a Motown dance party.

How you can reach me: I am available during my working hours. If you ever need a chat, feel free to reach out via email at g.ross@mary-elliot.thrive.ac or call Mary Elliot Academy 01922 490190.

Who I am: Rachael Bowen, Deputy Head

Why I wanted to be a Champ: I’m extremely passionate about mental health and wellbeing. I’m dedicated to spreading awareness and promoting positive mental health in our school and across the trust community. I know that having someone to talk to in a non-judgmental space, who can offer a listening ear and signpost to appropriate support and resources is invaluable.  As mental health champions, we are able to provide appropriate support for students, their families, and staff and assure them they’re not alone on this journey.

A fun fact about me: I have a blue roan cocker spaniel called Hendricks.
